What are they?

Club days are a great opportunity to try out tennis for the first time or if you’re a seasoned member, come down and share your skills, play other people and best of all enjoy a cold ale afterwards. It’s a great way to meet other people on a social side, without getting too serious.

When are they?

Saturdays and Sundays, 2-6pm (the bar is open from about 4pm – perfect for a post-game drink in the sun!)

Also Wednesdays 5-8pm

What do I do?

Simply arrive at the club make yourself known to the club day coordinator and let the games flow.

Is there a charge?

No! Thorndon Club is passionate about tennis and any new member wanting to join, can try our facilities free of charge. We do ask that after the 2nd visit you join the club at one of our convenient membership subs.

Who can come along?

Anyone, friends, family, work colleagues. Club night is open to all non-members and club members.

What else happens?

Basically, the club day coordinator will organise games of doubles for all those present. We usually play a set unless there are large numbers, when we stick to 8 games.

I don’t have a raquet?

No problems, we can lend you a racquet for the day.
