Team News : 2009 - 2010 Season

We had a great season of Interclub tennis at Thorndon over 2009-10.  Our men's Premier 1 team reached the grand final and lost in a final of the highest standard, which featured South Americans and Marcus Daniell who went on to win the national championships.  The team bounced back to win the Anthony Adams Cup after Christmas.  Our women's Premier 1 team finished runners-up before and after Christmas, narrowly missing out on the silverware.

Our men's Premier 2 team followed last year's promotion by reaching the division final.  The Interclub 1 team won their division and then qualified for Premier 3 next season with a thrilling campaign that was finally decided with a 7-1 win over table-topping Avalon on the last day.  Our teams in Interclub 4 and 6 won their leagues after Christmas with some great performances.

Our women's Interclub teams lost a couple of key players overseas but fortunately found some new talent to step up to the challenge.  Our Interclub 1 team came third after Christmas, and our Interclub 2 team came second.  Our Interclub 3 team picked up some good wins and useful experience.

Next season we will have teams competing at all levels of Wellington tennis, and they're always hoping to find keen new players!  If you enjoy playing team tennis then come down and join us as we prepare to try and do even better next year.
